Alvarez’s new Artist Series guitars are beautiful and available in a wide range of shapes, colors, and woods. Natural materials are used throughout, including mother of pearl and abalone inlays, genuine bone saddles and nuts, and rosewood accents. But it’s when you take one up and play it that the magic begins. Each model is built to get the most out of its components and to have them work together to provide a tone and playing experience that is rarely available at such a low price.  The quarter-sawn Sitka spruce and cedar tops are solid ‘A’ grade Sitka spruce and cedar. This assures constant quality, and it’s no mystery that better wood makes better guitars. Our tops are not only attractive, but also rigid, robust, and finely grained. This allows us to cut them just a smidgeon thinner, allowing them to dance a little bit more and generate a lot more vibration, resulting in a deeper tone.

The Award-Winning Artist Series

The Artist Series is now known as “The Award Winning Artist Series,” having won competitions and received acclaim in the United States, Europe, and other parts of the world. In the solid top guitar industry, it’s a truly crafted range of guitars that stands tall and sounds great.

Solid tops hand-selected; forward-shifted scalloped bracing, incredible tone and playing experience

The phrase “solid top” refers to an acoustic guitar’s soundboard being composed of solid wood rather than laminated wood. However, just because the top is sturdy does not guarantee that the sound will benefit from it immediately. When the entire guitar is built correctly, the tone of the instrument increases dramatically, allowing it to truly release the energy that a strong soundboard can create. Artist Series is designed to accomplish just that.

I’m sure this guitar will create a lovely sound once I have it repaired!! Right now, the frets are so screwed up that the guitar can’t even be tuned correctly. If you’re an expert player, I can see making modifications, but what does a novice, unschooled player know when he’s just trying to get it tuned in?????? The strings buzz so badly that even an experienced player can’t tune them; it’s recommended that you take it to an expert. Alvarez and Amazon did not deliver what I expected.

My Alvarez was purchased at a cheap music store in Vegas. But when my next-door neighbor wanted to learn to play, I directed him to this guitar because of its low price and high quality. I own seven guitars, but I bought this one on vacation since it was inexpensive and I didn’t want to worry if it was beaten up by a young player. I now play it for at least an hour every day since it stays in tune and sounds fantastic. The top is a little thinner than the rest of my collection, but I think that contributes to the tremendous booming ring it produces. It sings well thanks to the light D’addario strings. If you’re a beginner who simply wants to play for fun, this is the guitar for you. It has a lot of modification options and will be the only guitar you’ll ever need.

Arrived in excellent condition and is really playable. This summer, I’m thinking of trimming the saddle to make it look like my D18.
This is the one I keep at my office for breaks and stuff.

Although this is my first guitar, it is not my first instrument. I’ve tried similar-priced Fenders, Epiphones, and Gibsons, but the Alvarez sounds the finest at this price point in my view. The quality is exceptional, and I would not have anticipated it without spending an extra $200-300.
