Breedlove’s Oregon Concert CE is a luxury guitar with a twist: its style, materials, and tone set it apart from the competition in this price bracket. When you combine this with Breedlove’s environmentally conscious mentality and high-end American craftsmanship, you have an acoustic that demands attention.  Sitka spruce is by far the most popular top wood, with an outstanding strength-to-weight ratio. It grows fewer than six inches each year in Southeast Alaska TMs temperate rainforest, battling its way through deep old-growth woods. Breedlove’s trees range in age from 4 to 600 years old, growing straight and up to 300 feet tall. We never cut down one of these majestic trees, instead of collaborating with Alaska Specialty Woods to recover blown-down, dead trees from the forest floor.

Combining old-growth Sitka with gnarly Myrtlewood yields instruments that sound considerably better than standard guitars. Made by hand in Bend, Oregon. Each Oregon comes with LR Baggs EAS VTC electronics and a premium Breedlove hardshell case from the factory. MMR magazine dealers named this Oregon Concert the Acoustic Guitar of the Year in 2015, kicking off a three-year streak of Oregon instruments being honored for its tradition-breaking tone, playability, and sophisticated design. This guitar, which comes in cutaway and full-body versions, is the Breedlove icon, having been played by more Breedlove artists than any other USA manufactured Breedlove.

I wanted an acoustic guitar that was produced in the United States by a trustworthy manufacturer. Breedlove is a business that employs sustainable timbers from the Pacific Northwest, so I started looking at their instruments a while back. I enjoy the appearance and feel of a cutaway acoustic, and I appreciate being able to record with it.

This is the finest acoustic/electric guitar I’ve ever played! The high-gloss polish on the solid Sitka Spruce top contrasts with the satin finish on the solid Myrtlewood back and sides. The guitar is a wonderful fit for me, and the neck is silky smooth, enhancing runs up and down the fretboard. Don’t be fooled by the guitar’s “simple” appearance; it’s breathtakingly gorgeous both visually and sonically. The jack is shared with the strap button, so the guitar’s lines aren’t ruined by a big plastic box. Because of this, getting a strap over the bottom button might be tricky, but once I did, I had no problems. I’m really satisfied with my purchase and wish I could play it all day, every day. Breedlove, thank you very much!

Excellent movement and a beautiful sounding instrument. The bass resonance is excellent. Highs that are crisp. It’s fantastic.

I got it from a local guitar store and I really like it. They gave me a handwritten thank you note after I registered the guitar’s warranty. It has a well-balanced tone and is rather loud for a guitar with such a small body. I spent a little more than the Amazon price, but it was worth it to see it in person first.
