Blueridge introduces the Bristol BD-16 Dreadnaught. Designed to successfully provide the classic mountain tone and high-quality guitar manufacturing to even the most budget-conscious player at any level. Even at this price range, professional artisans with years of experience manufacture the finest spruce and mahogany tonewoods. The forward-x top bracing, which was created in the 1950s, is lightweight yet robust enough to provide excellent carrying power and resonance. A fully adjustable truss rod is built into the slender mahogany neck to ensure optimal alignment at all times. The result is a classic dreadnaught guitar with a large, full-bodied, and rich tone that isn’t too expensive.

This was purchased as a cheap “beater” guitar for camping, front porch plucking, and other such activities. I’ve been playing guitar for almost 20 years and have owned and played everything from no-name beginning guitars to high-end Martins and Taylors, among other instruments. I’m blown away by the quality. To find anything better, you’d have to pay at least twice as much. The setup is really playable right out of the box. Hands down, the greatest guitar for a beginner, and not terrible for an advanced player. Although the nut and saddle are plastic, they are incredibly finely cut and fit, and you can tell they were hand fitted. I reduced the action on mine somewhat by redoing the saddle, but I believe the nut is flawless, which is unheard of in a guitar of this price range Playability is a 9/10, and the tone is a 7.5/10. I’m not planning on taking it to the studio anytime soon, but for the price, it’s hard to beat.
